travel or sail with me in 2026 and 2027

I currently have three opportunities to sail or travel with me in summer and winter 2026 and winter 2027, hitting various corners of Europe and of course, the Christmas markets.

Sail the lower danube on avalon, August 14-22, 2026

Want to explore something off the beaten path with someone else taking care of the details, and doing it on a floating boutique hotel? I’m sailing with Avalon, one of my very favorite river cruise lines, on the lower Danube in August, and our itinerary will visit Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, and Hungary. Avalon’s signature Panorama Suites start at $7200 per person, double occupancy; the fare covers almost all excursions, four meals a day (yes, really), beer and wine lunch and dinner + liquor during happy hour, and the pleasure of my company, which frankly is invaluable. 😎 Details are here. Currently, there’s a promo to save $1500 per person off the cruise fare. That won’t last, so if you’re interested, email me.

Sail the danube with Uniworld, see the CHristmas markets, Dec. 2-9, 2027

Doubtless you’ll remember my cruise with Uniworld in their big suite last year. [Refresh your memory here. Lots of pix of the ship there.] I’m sailing on that same ship in 2027, again on the Danube, but this time visiting the Christmas markets strewn between Budapest and Passau, including some of my favorites in Austria. I'll likely add on nights before in Vienna and after in Munich, and you’re welcome to join for that as well.

Given the level of inclusions on Uniworld (drinks! Four meals a day! Excursions! Me!), this is very competitively priced against even non-luxury competitors. Their French balcony cabins start at $5849 per person, double occupancy—but you can save an additional 10% off the cruise fare if you book before June 30, 2026. For more on this itinerary, see here. Make sure you're looking at 2027 (although if you want to do this in 2026 instead, I can put you on that, too).

  • This cruise will sell out.

  • The Christmas markets are magical.

  • You should come with me.

  • Holler at me to discuss.

Christmas markets of the baltics, November 30-December 6, 2026

[CURRENTLY SOLD OUT. Space may open up closer to travel dates, so check back with me if this one’s of interest. Other dates do have availability.] This is also new territory for me: I’ve long wanted to visit the Baltic states—Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, and this escorted group trip with Globus visits Vilnius, Riga, and Tallinn during the Christmas market season. Pricing is very reasonable at $1799 per person, double OR single occupancy. I’m adding on several nights in Prague after this, and you can come along for that, too.

[This one’s full, but I’m also going to] Cruise the Seine, April 1-8, 2026

I'm returning to Normandy next spring for a river cruise with Austrian cruise line Amadeus, up the Seine from Paris to La Havre and back. Wanna come along? I'm going regardless with some friends. Active, well-behaved, non-grumpy adults are invited to join in the fun. 😎

The basics: April 1-8, 2026, roundtrip Paris, on the Amadeus Diamond. French balcony cabin starts at $2355 per person, double occupancy. Excursions can be booked a la carte or in packages, and are in addition to the cruise fare. Three + meals/day, beer and wine with lunch and dinner, and gratuities and port charges/taxes are included.

And yes, we can add on more time for you in Normandy or Paris (or somewhere else). I'm planning on spending at least one more day on D-Day museums I didn't get to in April, and perhaps more—likely staying again in Bayeux. For more, see here. 👇🏻

Shoot me an email, and we’ll discuss, and/or get it booked.

Group Trips

Do you have a group—wine club, work group, friends/family, alumni, church, or other affinity group—that wants to travel together on an amazing trip? We can plan, book, and even host your group in Europe.

Email me to start the conversation about a trip.

Our Trips

Rediscover Europe hosted trips are for active, non-grumpy, non-whiny adults who want to experience Europe, getting beyond the guidebooks’ recommendations to find the best of what these destinations have to offer—the food, sights, nature, culture, shopping, and more—and do so with guidance from someone who speaks the language and knows where to go and what to see, where to shop and what (and where) to eat. Contact me for more information or to join us for one of our trips.

And if you’ve got a group, I’d love to help you plan a trip for it! Have an affinity group/friends/family/harem for which you’d like to arrange an escorted trip? Shoot me an email.
